Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-River Tubing Tourism Village, Watu Kandang Pandean, is one of the leading destinations in Trenggalek Regency. This tourist destination is one that is taken into account in the 2022 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI).
In order to further optimize the promotion of the village, a team of lecturers from the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held a content creation training digital for the promotion of the River Tubing Tourism Village.
This activity was chaired by Asrori, SS, M.Pd. He said this training was carried out in stages from April to September 2022 by involving village managers or officials. As participants, they are entrepreneurs in the tourism village.
The head of the UNESA Office for International Affairs (KUI) said that this training is important considering the potential of the village is quite good to continue to be developed and widely known by the community.
The village of Watu Kandang Pandean has its own charm, in addition to its charming nature such as river tubing and waterfalls, for example, it also has strong cultural tourism such as percussion mortar to musical instruments. In addition, this village has a special culinary that makes visitors feel at home.
In addition, due to the needs of the times, which are indeed tourist destinations, including their promotions, they must utilize social or digital media. "Social media also plays an important role for business actors or managers, including businesses engaged in tourism or tourism attractions. Social media can be used as a media for promotion, information, and attractions," he said.
This training also involved students majoring in English Language and Literature who previously had an internship in the village for 3 months. He hopes that this activity can improve the skills of village managers or officials in creating tourism village promotional content on social media.
"This tourist village is known by word of mouth, from stories or visitor experiences that are shared on social media and we can optimize this again through the promotion of the manager itself," he explained.
Asrori targets this activity to produce a mandatory output in the form of publications in the proceedings of the international seminar The 3rd ICSAL 2022. The team involved in this activity are Silvy Cinthia Adelia, SS, MA, Ephrilia Noor Fitriana, S.Hum., M.Hum., Lina Purwaning Hartanti , S.Pd., M.EIL., Nur Fauzia, SS, M.Pd., Rahayu Kuswardhani, S.Pd., M.AppL.
