FIP.unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA- The implementation of the first day of introduction to campus life for new students (PKKMB), which is divided into four auditorium rooms of the Faculty of Education, invited a number of professors and education experts to provide insight and direction for new students on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 In front of thousands of new students, the Professor from the Department of Special Education Prof. Dr. Siti Masitoh, M.Pd, Professor of the Department of Special Education Prof. Dr. Maria Veronika Roesminingsih, M.Pd and Head of the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology Dr. Andi Kristanto, S.Pd., M.Pd, Head of the Department of Out-of-school Education, Dr. Wiwin Yulianingsih, M.Pd, Lecturer from the Department of Special Education, Wulan Patria Saroinsong S.Psi., M.Pd.,Ph.D and lecturer from the PGSD Department Neni Mariana S.Pd., M.Sc.,Ph.D .Prof. Dr. Maria Veronika Roesminingsih, M.Pd with the material on the Education System in Higher Education said that with the legal umbrella of Law NO. 20 of 2003 education has expansion and guarantees access to develop the tri dharma of higher education more fully. With that, the educational needs of today can be harmonized. “Learning systems and processes in higher education refer to the 6Cs, namely; (1) communication (2) collaboration (3) compassion (4) critical thinking (5) creative thinking (6) computing logic,” he said. In optimizing the role of higher education, students as agents of change, Prof. Dr. Maria Veronika Roesminingsih, M.Pd explained that students must be active in participating in various student fields to hone their interests and talents. Because with that, hard skill and soft skill competencies can develop and the essence of national education goals is achieved. Prof. Dr. Siti Masitoh, M.Pd with university material in the 4.0 revolution era that education should not stop after obtaining a degree. In the era of revolution 4.0, students have to hone a lot of competence, skills, and don‘t be easily satisfied. “We are like drinking bottles, the bottom to the middle are the characters, then the rest are soft skills and hard skills. Balance our strengths with the embodiment of good character,” he added. According to him, being a student in the industrial revolution 4.0 era, new students put forward an attitude of adaptation, willing to innovate, and becoming lifelong learners. Uncertain changes can be anticipated with it.
