Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Surabaya State University (UNESA) professors continue to grow. The ‘one step ahead‘ campus again inaugurated four professors in the Senate Open Meeting which was held on the 9th Floor, Postgraduate Building, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., appreciated the achievement of the professor. Becoming a professor through a presidential decree, he continued, is not easy and not all lecturers can hold the title. Only those who have the work, seriousness and commitment to advance the nation and state can get it.
New Spirit for Advanced Indonesia
"Professor is not the end of a lecturer‘s career achievement, but instead becomes a new spirit in producing works that are more brilliant and beneficial for society and the country," said Cak Hasan.
The role of professors is very important in encouraging and creating a climate of innovation in the country. They are pioneers of innovation through scientific development, research, and service. Changes in mindset, development of academic culture, use of technology for research that is beneficial to society are important requirements for the progress of UNESA and Indonesia.
"Professor title is not for bragging rights, but a sign that the holder is an educated person, a scientist who is highly dedicated to the development of science and technology that is beneficial to mankind. The community is waiting for the role and contribution of UNESA professors," he said.
Cak Hasan hopes that this new professor will become a new spirit for UNESA in producing international research and publications, ideas, ideas and innovative works and actively participating in advancing the nation and state for advanced and superior Indonesia. "Congratulations and success for the new UNESA professors," he concluded.
The Great Teacher and His Expertise
As for the professor who was confirmed; first, Prof. Dr. Drs. Abdul Rachman Syam Tuasikal, M.Pd as Professor of the Faculty of Sports Science (FIO). This professor did a lot of research on basketball, starting from media and learning methods, to developing a monitoring system for basketball referees‘ decision-making.
Second, Prof. Dr. Nuniek Herdyastuti, M.Si, as Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). This woman from Surabaya is a chemistry expert who has produced a lot of research on chemical waste treatment, developing a mini-lab of WWTP, and the effect of chemicals on health aspects. In his inaugural speech, he delivered the research "Healthy and Natural with N-Acetyl Glucosamine Chemicals Result of Chitin Enzymatic Degradation as Osteoarthritis Drug".
Third, Prof. Dr. Dra. Gunarti Dwi Lestari, M.Si, as Professor of the Faculty of Education (FIP). Prof Gunarti is an education specialist specializing in early childhood education. Many researches have been produced, including early childhood maritime cultural literacy and effective parenting strategies (Triple-P).
In addition, it is also about early childhood character education strategies, developing models to increase self-regulated learning for inclusive students and many more. At his inauguration, he delivered a speech on "The Effect of Professional Commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior on Kindergarten Teachers".
Fourth, Prof. Dr. Dyah Hariani, M.Si, as Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). This woman who was born in Malang gave birth to a lot of research on animal reproduction. Recently, many researches have been done on catfish, including the effect of feed protein on the estrogen hormone in catfish, improving the ‘reproductive‘ quality of catfish, and others.
His inaugural speech was about “Preparation of Gonadal Ripe Catfish Parent Through Laserpuncture Induction as an Effort to Accelerate Mass-Scale Seed Procurement Towards Industrialization in the Fisheries Sector”.
“Success in fish farming depends on several factors such as fish, feed and the environment. Advancing this field requires a cultivation business strategy to become a sustainable technology-based industry, a strategy to increase product competitiveness and a strategy to encourage product efficiency or independent experts," he said.
The senate meeting was attended by the chairman of the senate, the rector, the ranks of the vice-chancellors, the directors and the ranks of the deputy directors of the Graduate School. In addition, there are also the heads of the S-2 and S-3 study programs and their staff, the ranks of the faculties and study programs around UNESA, heads of institutions and other invited guests.
