Surabaya, UNESA – The Study Program of Educational Technology is currently making a breakthrough in internationalizing its programs to a wider audience. They are presenting an EduTech International Podcast featuring international student speakers, titled “Network for EduTech Exchange Talks” (NEXT). This program is not just an average podcast, but a forum for exchanging valuable knowledge and experiences in the EduTech field. The premiere session of NEXT was held on Tuesday (October 21, 2025) with the theme “Tech Meets Dreams: How Technology Helped Me Achieve My Study Abroad Goal,” presented by Vietnamese student Ngo Phuong Thao, also known as Emilie. Mamadou Cellou Diallo, a guest star from Guinea, joined her. This talk examined the crucial role of EduTech in facilitating international student success and helping them achieve their dreams. Mamadou, who is currently Head of Membership at The Young Global Leaders Network, explained how he navigates the educational opportunities and language barriers in Indonesia through the use of digital tools, despite coming from a country with internet accessibility challenges. “It’s hard in Guinea, since the internet is still a big problem. Not many people have access to the internet,” he said. This KNB Scholarship awardee also shared his experiences with EduTech in daily learning as an international student. “As an international student, we are required to learn Indonesian for 2 semesters before moving to academic. So, when I started learning Indonesian, I used Google Translate a lot. To conquer the challenges, I’m relying on tools and other apps, such as YouTube and Google, to help me out. That’s really important, since I got the scholarship online, and that shows how important technology is–especially EduTech”. As the cherry on top, he also added some advice for the young international students who are chasing their dreams. He mentioned before that he struggled to find all the information and categories; now he’s becoming the pioneer to help everyone who needs it to achieve their goals by opening his own channels and platforms for sharing information. Yet he also reminded the audience to be wise, know what you want and what you have. Writer: Mujahidah Auliya Ihsani (24B)
